In recent years we have seen an influx of luxury car manufacturers getting into the SUV and crossover market. If you were a fan of the Audi Q5, Porsche Cayenne, or BMW X3 than buckle up for the future.

You will be happy to know that another full roster of crossover mini SUVs are due out in 2014. All three of these competitors are already releasing teasers, expanding production facilities, and gearing up for big success.

The Porsche Macan is essentially a slightly smaller, sleeker version of their Cayenne. ‘Macan’ is reportedly the Indonesian word for tiger and Porsche is promising “suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics.”

Porsche is spending a whopping $650 million in plant expansion to accommodate its’ production goals.

Next up we have the BMW X4. Again, a sleeker coupe-like crossover and companion to the X3. Much like it’s counter part, it will have variants of four and six cylinder gas and diesel engines.

BMW is spending a massive $900 million to expand its’ South Carolina Facility for an annual production rate of 350,000 cars.

Last but not least, the Audi Q5. There have been reported sightings of the test mule for the 2014 Audi Q5. It is predicted to come with the same V6 engine as the S4 and S5. Maybe its the fabled S Q5? Only time will tell.

Audi hasn’t yet commented publicly on it’s expansion efforts or spending. Is the secrecy a benefit or a disadvantage? Which Crossover are YOU looking forward to? Leave us a comment with your thoughts.
