Electric Cars: 2011 Green Car of the Year Award

Electric cars may be the way of the future with society making more and more efforts to go green. An electric car is a plug-in battery powered automobile with significantly lower rates of harmful pollution and zero tail pipe emissions. The emergence of green cars into the automotive industry has been long awaited and brings years of research, development and planning behind it. With the strong backing, comes a large price tag. The most affordable electric car on the market currently is prices at $31,000. The government does offer varied discounts and tax incentives for those who purchase a green vehicle, roughly $7,000.

As green technology increases, more and more vehicles are being produced with electric battery technologies. Take a look at 2011’s Green Car Vision Award produced by the Green Car magazine.
