Lamborghini has revealed the Aventador LP 700-4. The newest addition to the powerhouse family boasts an incredible 6.5-liter V12 engine, top speeds of 217 mph and 0 to 62 in 2.9 seconds. How is this 700 horse power monster greener than any other supercar?
The fuel economy of the Aventador is better than any Lamborghini ever created. The Aventador has been fitted with a start/stop engine. More than your average Honda Civic start/stop engine, this bad boy cranks into full V12 power from a dead stop in 180 milliseconds.
The new vehicle also employs a Cyclinder Deactivation System. The new CDS feature adds an incredible amount to fuel conservation by disabling a cylinder bank. At speeds under roughly 80 mph, the V12 becomes a V6.
Both of these features combined with a body comprised of light weight carbon create an excellent sports car for both city driving and on the track. With a price tag of $375,700, the gas savings would be trivial to the owner. The environmental responsibility aspect in conjunction with fuel innovation for high performance vehicles are the most notable achievements.
While we aren’t sure how the ‘Lambo-Greeney’ will be received amongst motorsports enthusiasts, or even environmentalists, it certainly is a finely crafted machine. The Aventador LP 700-4 is another beauty in a family of incredible performance vehicles.
