Bad Choice Road Sign

Driving is a privilege not a right.  In order to be considered a valid driver you must complete a written test and a driver’s road test. Although, there are tests in place, the number of times a person can fail a given test is flexible. On a single permit, a person can fail a written drivers test 3 times before he/she must reapply for a permit and attempt the test again. So, does failing a drivers test define a person as a bad driver or are there other signs you may be a bad driver?

Of course, we all believe we are good drivers despite our track records of fender benders, curb hitting, red light running and accidents that were clearly “not our fault.” But believe it or not, insurance companies classify drivers as good or bad drivers based on our driving history and the possibilities of future risks.  So, if you were to be considered a “bad” driver, what would be a few of the possible signs?

Signs Of A Bad Driver

  1. You drive with your knee, freeing both hands for other activities such as eating or texting.
  2. While waiting at a stop sign you roll into the person in front of you.
  3. Frequently tailgating other drivers is a sign of a bad driver.
  4. You switch lanes without a blinker.
  5. You speed up at a yellow light rather then slow down.
  6. When you are at a four-way intersection you always assume your first and cut others off.
  7. Other drivers honk at you, flip you off or occasionally swear at you.
  8. You’ve been involved in more than one accident and were found at fault within the past 2 years.
  9. You consider the speed limits to be a minimum.
  10. Your insurance company drops you as a customer.

Although, we may not all have the natural ability to drive well, we do have the ability to improve our skills and safety techniques. Many insurance companies provide free courses or give discounts for those who complete safe driving courses. Being a good driver not only helps you and others remain safe on the roadways but it also can help reduce the cost of your insurance premiums. Insurance companies reward those who remain safe on the roadways. To find out what kind of insurance discounts are available or to search for cheap insurance visit www.autocricket.com.
